This vegan wrap is the best thing that happens during my lunch break. I used to take a boring brown-bagged lunch, put hummus and carrots on toast, and call it a day. But after I added this sandwich into my rotation, no two weeks have been the same.

This best vegan BLT wrap recipe combines all of my favorite things into one tasty vegan lunch: a slice of smoke tempeh or vegan bacon, lettuce, a heaping tablespoon of dijon mustard, avocado, tomato, and a couple pieces of whole-grain wrap.

One bite of this wrap and I’m transported to my happy place. This lunch feels like a real treat, even though it’s packed with healthy ingredients. It’s hearty, packed with vegetables, and the whole-grain wrap has a nice texture to it. This recipe I so easy to make, I make it all the time!

Best Vegan BLT Wrap recipe

Smoked tempeh is usually marinated in a mixture of spices & herbs, then smoked over applewood or hickory wood to produce its amazing flavor.

To spice up this best vegan BLT wrap, you can sauté the tempeh with garlic and red onion for extra flavor. I add about 1 tbsp of dijon mustard, which is a little more than the recipe called for, but I like a little extra kick of mustard in my wraps.

I spread the applewood-smoked tempeh on my whole-grain wrap, top with lettuce and tomato, and used my favorite dijon mustard as the wrap’s sauce. A nice touch: I sprinkled the wrap with some fresh cilantro when I have them. You can also sprinkle a little vegan cheddar cheese on top if you want to give it a little more substance.

To lower your carb intake for this best vegan BLT wrap, you can also substitute your whole-grain wraps with lettuce wraps!

Vegan ‘BLT’ Wrap

  • Frying pan


  • 2 whole-grain wraps
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 2 small tomatoes
  • 2 cups lettuce
  • 6-8 strips vegan smoked tempeh or vegan bacon
  • 2 tsp. dijon mustard


  • Take the smoked tempeh or bacon and cut into thin strips. Place a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat and spray the pan with a little oil. Cook the smoked tempeh or bacon on each side for 2 minutes until crispy.
  • Meanwhile, slice the tomatoes and avocado. Spread the whole-grain wraps with mustard. (You can also add vegan mayo if preferred.) Top the wraps with lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, and smoked tempeh or bacon. Roll up the wrap and serve immediately.


Tip: To reduce carbohydrates, use a lettuce wrap instead of a whole grain wrap.
